OVERVIEW

Experience the picturesque artists’ paradise of Sidi Bou Said and the impressive ruins of Carthage, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll stroll along winding cobblestone streets with views of soaring Bou Kornine Mountain as a spectacular backdrop, and explore quaint shops filled with local handicrafts and antiques. Discover the stunning ruins of Carthage, once the western Mediterranean’s commercial center. Learn Carthage thrived after its founding in 800 BC by Phoenician settlers led by fabled Queen Dido, but the city was devastated during the 2nd- and 3rd-century BC Punic Wars. You’ll discover that Romans resettled the ruins in 44 BC and built their city into the third-largest city on the Mediterranean Sea.
