OVERVIEW

This tour is intended for guests who have limited mobility, rely on a cane or walker, or for guests’ companions.

Delve into Greece’s glorious past at the site of the first Olympic games and visit an organic farm that follows traditional production methods. At the archaeological park at Olympia, you will meander through ruins so enlightening that UNESCO declared them a World Heritage site. You will see the remains of the Olympic stadium, rows of Doric columns from the gymnasium and the Temple of Hera, Olympia’s most intact structure. Other highlights include Roman emperor Nero’s villa and the Temple of Zeus, which once held the Statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. For an even more detailed perspective, you will visit the nearby Archaeological Museum of Olympia, which contains artifacts found during excavations of ancient Olympia. Afterwards, while touring the family-owned farm Magna Grecia, you will hear about the organic production methods and sample a selection of olives that demonstrates their distinctive tastes.

Note: This tour has a limited capacity; therefore, it is recommended that guest’s pre-book this tour as early as possible. This tour is designed to use the most accessible wheelchair routes possible. This includes step-free routes, shorter distances and no stairs. Accessible restrooms with wide doors for wheelchairs are present along the tour route. The vehicle used on this excursion is equipped with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters. Guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs. Guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion. Lunch/snack costs are not included. The number of accessible vehicles is extremely limited. Guests are encouraged to make their accessible shore excursion reservations as far in advance as possible. Guests wishing to utilize a wheelchair (manual or electric) on this excursion must provide the total dimensions (height, length and width) and weight of the electric scooter or wheelchair at the time of booking.
